BATTLE IT OUT WITH POVERTY!

People who lived in the continent of Europe in the 1700s and prior to that had a vicious way of settling disputes whenever there were disagreements between parties on many issues, trivial or otherwise. The offended party would challenge the other to a duel, a pre-arranged combat using deadly weapons, such as swords or pistols based on an accepted code which could be the death of the loser without any repercussions to the winner. This method was popular for settling disputes among gentlemen.

In the 21^st century we must recourse back to dueling to combat and mortally finish off an enemy that all of us should detest totally. This enemy continues to assault and insult many of us like he did to our forebears who did little or nothing to eliminate it. That enemy is poverty.

The time has come to challenge poverty to a fight to finish. Enough of the harassment, intimidation and fear! You have a score to settle with lack, poverty and want and it is a duel that you will win! Just as duels were settled with certain weapons in days of old permit me to share with you the weapons that you can use to eliminate poverty:

The first weapon that you must use in the battle is the mouth. Your mouth has a unique role to play because many times you are what you say. Start by creating and declaring positive, wealth building affirmations over your life first thing in the morning when you arise, and last thing at night before you sleep. Just declaring such words like, “I am rich, wealthy and successful,” and “I break from poverty to riches, want to plenty,” will do wonders for your personality, psyche and confidence thus putting you in the right frame of mind to grow wealthy. I challenge you to start today.

Your mind is the second weapon in your arsenal because again you are also what you think. If you think thoughts of lack and want they will begin to materialize and vice versa. You need to resolve from today that no matter the circumstances you must think positively. A clear difference between the rich and the poor is what they think about. Think positive, think possibilities and think opportunities. In no time poverty will begin to run away from your life.

This environment is the third weapon that you have to duel with and defeat poverty. There exists a myriad of opportunities in our land. This land is truly “green.” A visit to any of Nigeria’s International airports will showcase the fact. Literally hundreds of foreigners are arriving every week staking a claim to Nigeria and trying to amass a fortune while the locals cannot see it. Foreigners do not just come to our country just for the fun of it. Nigeria has huge potentials that we need to tap into for us to break out of the hold of poverty. I urge you to be immediately on the lookout for what this environment lacks because opportunities abound.

Fourthly you also need large doses of persistence, drive and determination. Remember that this is war! Poverty represents the established norm and status quo for many people. Change comes with a price tag which you must pay to get the prize. Now wars are fought in a series of battles, so do not give up if you lose the battle now, regroup and win the next and the next and before long victory is certain! If you fall by all means stand and engage the enemy again!Keep engaging till you triumph!

The fifth weapon you have to defeat poverty is your network. Your network consists of people you have met in your journey through life. Some of them have come into your life to favour you and do you great good; the onus is on you to find them! There is literally someone you have already met who could help you or knows someone who knows someone who can help you onto the right path. Write down all those you know and commit to seeking for ways on how you can be useful to them. It is in your usefulness that opens the flow of favour from them to you.

The fact that there are problems in our environment is the proof that poverty can be defeated. Wealth is a reward for solving problems; the more problems you solve the richer you become. The richest people solve problems of most people on a grand scale. The good news is that there are still many more problems that are arising. Be on the lookout and search for problems that you can solve.

Finally, knowledge is a powerful weapon sure to blow poverty away. There is an extremely urgent need for you to develop knowledge and understanding in money matters. Sadly money matters are not taught in any school, you need to go on a personal adventure to learn how to master and control money because you cannot control what you don’t understand. Those who are wise in money matters will defeat poverty in any form.

The alarm has been sounded and the battle has begun! Dig deep into your armoury and attack the enemy! Use these seven weapons to defeat anything poverty will throw at you. I expect nothing less than to see you deliver the killer blow to poverty this year! You can and you will!
